Name : Mr C Kunalan

Mr C Kuanalan achieved Silver medal for Singapore in the 100m sprint at the 5th Asian Games



-In1968,Mr C Kunalan was a Singapore Representative;established 100m record with a timing of 10.38 sec in Mexico Olympics to set a national record spanning 33 years.

-In 1969,he was the 5th SEAP Games.He won 3 golds in Asian Games 200m record.He's timing was 21.3 sec.Mr C Kunalan was awarded for the Best Sportsman for two consecutive years,1968 and 1969.


-In recognition of his significant contributions to Singapore sports as well as his tireless efforts to promote Olympic Education in the school system, Mr. CANAGASABAI Kunalan has been awarded the 2007 IOC Sport and Promotion of Olympism Trophy.
Mr. C Kunalan is a sports icon in Singapore, who was a competitive athlete before he became a sports educator and administrator. He represented our country as a sprinter at the highest level of international competition, including the South East Asian, Asian and Olympic Games. He has served as the Honorary Secretary of the Singapore Olympic Academy since its inception and on various committees of the Singapore Sports Council, the Singapore Sports School and the Singapore National Olympic Council over the past 20 years. Moreover, Mr. Kunalan has been a strong personal advocate of the Olympic values of fair play and equal opportunity for all. As part of the Olympic Education program in Singapore, he speaks frequently to schools and sports clubs on the importance of sport in developing character. With his unflagging commitment and unquestionable integrity, Mr. Kunalan is one of Singapore’s finest ambassadors for sport.





Name: Fandi ahmad


-In 1962 Fandi ahmad was a sportsman. Fandi joined Singapore's national football squad at the age of 16. He is the youngest player to have done so at the time of writing. He scored the winning goal in Singapore' 2-1 Malaysia cup victory over Selangor in 1980.



-In 1981, he became a professional footballer, his career thereafter including periods with the Dutch teams Ajax Amsterdam and FC Groningen, as well as with Indonesia's Niac Mitra and the Kuala Lumpur Football Club.


-Fandi represented SEA Games in 1983, 1985 and 1989. Their team won a Silver Medal on each occasion. In 1994, he played for Singapore in the Malaysia Cup final against Pahang, with Singapore winning 4-0.Fandi was a captain of the national team in 1993-97, and received a Public Service Medal in 1994. As a coach of the Singapore Armed Forces Football Club he took the team to an S-League and cup double in 1997.In 2001, at the age of 38, he became the youngest formal International football player to be appointed a council member of the football Association of Singapore
